PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has officially released its 2025 Sustainability Report (SR), reaffirming the company's commitment to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its business strategy and corporate transformation. The report reflects TelkomGroup's concrete steps toward building a foundation for sustainable growth amidst the evolving dynamics of the digital industry.
Driven by the acceleration of digital transformation and rising stakeholder expectations for responsible business practices, the company is required not only to generate economic growth but also to ensure operational sustainability, environmental stewardship, strengthened governance, and the creation of value for society.
Through the 2025 Sustainability Report, TelkomGroup showcases various achievements and strategic initiatives aligned with the company’s "TLKM 30" transformation agenda. This agenda encompasses enhancing operational excellence, streamlining the business portfolio, monetizing digital assets, and transforming into a more adaptive and competitive strategic holding company.
Telkom’s Vice President of Sustainability, Gunawan Wasisto Ciptaning Andri, emphasized that sustainability has become an integral part of the company’s growth strategy. Business transformation is being undertaken to ensure the company can create long-term value for all stakeholders while strengthening business resilience amidst an increasingly dynamic industrial landscape.
“For TelkomGroup, sustainability is not merely a matter of regulatory compliance; it is an integral part of the company’s strategy to generate sustainable long-term growth and enhance competitiveness in the digital era,” said Gunawan.
ESG as the Foundation for Transformation and Growth
In the 2025 Sustainability Report, TelkomGroup’s ESG implementation is driven by three key pillars: Save Our Planet, Empower Our People, and Elevate Our Business. These three pillars serve as the foundation for the company to create economic value while delivering positive impacts on the environment and society.
Save Our Planet: Driving the Low-Carbon Transition and Sustainable Operations
Through its "Save Our Planet" pillar, TelkomGroup continues to strengthen initiatives supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. Efforts are being made through emissions management, enhanced energy efficiency, optimized resource utilization, and the development of more eco-friendly digital infrastructure—including green data centers.
As a digital telecommunications company, Telkom recognizes that energy demand will continue to rise alongside the growth of digital services and data-driven technologies. Consequently, the company is committed to continuously improving operational efficiency while supporting both national and global sustainability targets.
A key milestone highlighted in the 2025 Sustainability Report is the inaugural launch of the Climate Transition Plan. This initiative marks a strategic step forward in bolstering the company's readiness to address climate change challenges and integrating climate risk management into long-term business planning.
Empower Our People: Developing Digital Talent and an Inclusive Culture
Through the "Empower Our People" pillar, TelkomGroup continues to invest in human capital development as a key driver of the company's successful transformation.
As of 2025, women hold approximately 21% of managerial positions at TelkomGroup, reflecting the company's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusive leadership. Furthermore, over 20.2% of the workforce falls into the "digital talent" category, a result of efforts to enhance competencies in alignment with the demands of the future digital industry.
TelkomGroup’s commitment is also evident in its efforts to strengthen customer relationships. This is demonstrated by an improved Net Promoter Score (NPS) achieving an "Excellent" rating, reflecting rising levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Regarding community economic empowerment, TelkomGroup continues to drive the strengthening of the digital ecosystem through various business development programs. Throughout 2025, approximately 12.6% of the MSMEs supported by the company successfully "leveled up" and enhanced their business independence through the adoption of digital technology and ongoing mentorship.
Elevate Our Business: Strengthening Governance and Digital Business Resilience
Under the "Elevate Our Business" pillar, TelkomGroup continues to strengthen corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with increasingly complex regulations in the digital era. A key strategic move in 2025 is the establishment of the Legal & Compliance Directorate, aimed at reinforcing compliance and corporate governance functions. This directorate is expected to enhance the effectiveness of risk management, regulatory compliance, data protection, and information security—all crucial aspects of the digital industry.
Furthermore, Telkom continues to strengthen its role as an enabler of the national digital ecosystem by developing various strategic infrastructures, including data centers, fiber-optic networks, telecommunications towers, and international connectivity. These efforts are part of the company's strategy to meet the growing demand for digital services, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies.
Through the strengthening of digital infrastructure, talent development, robust corporate governance, and the implementation of a low-carbon transition strategy, Telkom continues to advance toward achieving sustainable growth and making a tangible contribution to the progress of Indonesia's digital economy.
