TelkomGroup has accommodated 632 interns from various universities across Indonesia. These interns are from batches 1 and 2 of the National University Graduate Internship Program. In batch 1, which ran from October 20, 2025, to April 19, 2026, TelkomGroup accepted 246 interns. Furthermore, in the 2nd batch with an internship period from November 24, 2025 to May 23, 2026, there were 386 interns who did internships in the TelkomGroup environment.
All participants not only underwent internships at Telkom but were also placed in various subsidiaries, including Telkomsel, Telkomsat, Telkom Property, Telkom Landmark Tower, and Telkom Data Ecosystem. The program involved interns from various regions, including Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Semarang, Denpasar, Pontianak, Samarinda, and Makassar.
The visit began with a visit to one of the interns' work locations, the Telkom Sustainability Sub-Department. The Coordinating Minister, along with his staff, as well as the TelkomGroup Board of Directors and Commissioners, also held discussions with the interns, mentors, and local unit leaders. Following the site visit, the agenda continued with a mini town hall session attended by 100 college graduate internship participants and 17 mentors at TelkomGroup. The interns interacted directly through a question-and-answer session with the Coordinating Minister, his staff, and the TelkomGroup Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners to gain insights into future career opportunities for young talent in Indonesia.
In his remarks, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto expressed his appreciation for the TelkomGroup's implementation of the college graduate internship program. "We greatly appreciate Telkom's excellent implementation of the national internship program. As the demand for data centers increases, the need for skilled workers in the digital sector has also increased significantly. The development of the digital sector is a key factor in Indonesia's future economic growth, so we will continue to promote the national internship program, particularly in the digital industry within TelkomGroup."
Furthermore, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto also highlighted the growing need for talent in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indonesia. "AI has enormous potential for Indonesia across various sectors. First, of course, the infrastructure itself; we need data centers. Then, second, the sector itself. Whether it's healthcare, Industry 4.0, or the creative and innovative industries, these also require skilled workers. So I ask Telkom to pursue this. Because AI requires data. There is no AI without data. And data collection is labor-intensive." added Airlangga.
Similarly, Telkom's Director of Human Capital Management, Willy Saelan, also stated, "This internship program for college graduates is an important platform for young talent to gain real-world work experience in various fields, from data analysis and development, AI, to project management and other digital fields. Telkom is committed to providing the best inclusive and digitally oriented experience, in line with our vision of preparing superior human resources for the future digital industry," Willy concluded.
The visit by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and his staff is expected to strengthen the synergy between Telkom and stakeholders in providing opportunities for young talent to develop their competencies and gain internship experience through direct involvement in various projects. Through this initiative, Telkom remains committed to producing a young generation that is not only ready to compete in the national industry but also ready to compete globally.
