In an effort to strengthen national digital sovereignty, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) inaugurated its 28th edge data center facility, neuCentrIX Telkom, located in Jayapura, Papua, on Thursday (December 4th). Also present at the inauguration were Telkom Commissioner Rizal Mallarangeng, Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini, Telkom Director of Wholesale & International Business Service Honesti Basyir, and officials from the Papua Provincial Government. The presence of the neuCentrIX Jayapura data center facility is a catalyst for accelerating digital transformation while expanding the data center and digital service ecosystem in eastern Indonesia.
As the first data center in Papua, the inauguration of neuCentrIX Jayapura signifies the data center's readiness to serve the market needs of the Jayapura area and its surroundings. Furthermore, the construction of this facility is a strategic step to support the Asta Cita program and the government's initiative to equitably distribute digital infrastructure, while providing a strong digital technology foundation for government and business actors across various sectors.
In his remarks, Telkom Commissioner Rizal Mallarangeng stated, "Equalizing digital access throughout Indonesia, including Papua, is an integral part of the grand vision of national digital sovereignty. Telkom's efforts not only provide networks and infrastructure, but also an ecosystem to serve as a foundation for a new era in achieving modern digital independence," he concluded.
On the same occasion, Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini emphasized Telkom's commitment to strengthening the national digital ecosystem through equitable distribution of infrastructure and integrated digital services. "neuCentrIX Jayapura is a manifestation of TelkomGroup's commitment to ensuring equitable digital access for all levels of society. By expanding its data center network to Papua, Telkom is supporting the creation of a more resilient regional digital ecosystem ready to meet future technological needs," Dian said.
The Papua Provincial Government expressed its appreciation to Telkom for the presence of the neuCentrIX Jayapura data center facility, which is considered to have a significant impact on accelerating digital transformation in the Papua region. The Provincial Government also emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between Telkom, the government, industry, and various stakeholders to ensure optimal data center utilization in supporting Papua's vision of a more connected and competitive Papua.

The neuCentrIX Jayapura facility offers a comprehensive and integrated solution for colocation needs, ensuring security and broad connectivity. With Tier-II international security standards, neuCentrIX Jayapura has a total capacity of 96 racks.
