PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) affirmed its commitment to supporting inclusive development and national digital sovereignty by distributing 111,500 GB of Telkomsel internet data to schools in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas. This distribution is a realization of the Digiland Run 2025 sustainability initiative, which involved 12,500 runners, with each kilometer they ran equivalent to 1 GB of internet data to support digital and distance learning.
The data has been distributed to 21 schools located in 3T areas across Indonesia to support student learning. In addition to the data, support includes PCs and IndiHome services for one year to ensure students and educators have optimal digital access. This program distribution is carried out through a collaboration between Telkom and Telkomsel and is a form of TelkomGroup's social responsibility.
Telkom's VP of Sustainability, Gunawan Wasisto, C.A., stated, "The distribution of 111,500 GB of data from the Digiland Run 2025 event demonstrates Telkom's commitment to advancing digital education in the 3T (third-most remote) regions. This effort aligns with the GoZero% spirit, where Telkom strives to ensure that every step of digital transformation goes hand in hand with social and environmental responsibility. By providing equal access for all Indonesian students, Telkom is contributing to the development of a technology-savvy generation ready to face future challenges," said Gunawan.
The Digiland 2025 sustainability initiative is a concrete part of Telkom's GoZero% sustainability efforts under the Empower Our People pillar, which supports education, community empowerment, and the use of digital technology. With internet network access reaching more than 98% of Indonesia's population, Telkom continues to strive to ensure that all people can benefit from an inclusive and sustainable digital transformation.
Telkom's Senior Vice President of Group Sustainability & Corporate Communication, Ahmad Reza, added, "This movement with runners proves that collective action can bring real change. Every step taken has helped thousands of students in various regions access digital learning. This aligns with TelkomGroup's commitment to making a positive impact on society and Indonesia's digital ecosystem," Reza concluded.
As a key driver of national digitalization, Telkom emphasizes that Indonesia's digital future must be built on a foundation of sustainability. Every step and corporate action taken will continue to align with the GoZero% Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability principles. With the core pillars of Save Our Planet, Empower Our People, and Elevate Our Business, Telkom ensures it focuses not only on creating added value for the company but also on preserving the earth and ensuring inclusivity for future generations.
